So it’s that time of the year again when the inner manager in all of us comes out and we pick our Fantasy Football teams. It takes much consideration and plenty of research to determine which players are going to pick up them valuable points. Here I run through the players that I have picked, and what each player will bring to my team.

Team Name: Klopps and Robbers

Other possible LFC related names: Show Me The Mane, Lallanas in Pyjamas, Lord of the Ings.

Formation: 3-4-3

Arter Boruc

Value: £5.8m

Boruc is a fairly cheap option in goal but a reliable choice. He plays regularly for Bournemouth as their number one goalkeeper and makes plenty of saves at vital times. At 37 years of age, Boruc has plenty of Premier League experience and is a good shout to pick up some valuable points.

Leighton Baines

Value: £8.2m

Baines should always be a regular in everybody’s fantasy team. Mainly because he is deadly from set pieces and regularly takes penalties. This may change after the arrival of Wayne Rooney to the Everton team but it can be assumed that Baines will still have some responsibilities from set pieces. Due to Everton’s lack of depth in the full back areas it’s a safe shout that Baines will play the majority of the games in the Premier League.

Ryan Shawcross

Value: £7.2m

Shawcross is a cheaper option in the defensive area but is a player that is hard in the tackle and makes plenty of blocks and clearances. He is the Stoke captain and so will play every game in the league. Stoke often keep plenty of clean sheets, especially at home, so Shawcross should gain points fairly quickly.

Nathan Ake

Value: £7.6m

Ake made his move to Bournemouth permanent after a successful spell on loan last season. He even chipped in with a few goals which is why he makes my team this year. Defensively sound and an eye for goal means that Ake should tally up a decent amount of points.

Wilfred Zaha

Value: £9.3m

The tricky Palace winger is a handful for any defense and scored a decent 7 goals last season with a further 9 assists. I expect him to have similar performances next season and even score a few more goals. With Benteke up front and Zaha’s crossing ability, there should be plenty of points picked up here from assists.

James McArthur

Value: £7.3m

Mr Reliable in this team. McArthur has plenty of Premier League experience and is a regular in the Crystal Palace midfield. He breaks up the play in the middle of the park and is the source for forward moves. He scored a few goals last year and should replicate that next season. A fairly cheap pick which won’t break the bank.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Value: £8.9m

The ex Bayern Munich star is a class act. He can score goals from any area of the pitch and is one of the main stars at Stoke City. He is full of pace and power and will shoot from anywhere. Guaranteed to build up points in your team, should he stay fit for the whole season.

Mohamed Salah

Value: £9.4m

The Egyptain signed for Liverpool this summer from Roma and has already bagged 4 goals in preseason. His pace is electric and I expect him to score at least 15 goals next season. His first spell in the Premier League with Chelsea was not successful but he has matured as a player and will flourish in the Liverpool team with the players he will have around him.

 Harry Kane (C)

Value: £12.9m

Probably one the most popular choices after winning back to back golden boots. This guy will give you plenty of goals and plenty of points. I expect the Spurs striker to score another 25+ goals next season and be one of the highest points earners.

Roberto Firmino

Value: £11.6m

Firmino is a player that will always pop up with important goals in big matches. He presses from the top of the pitch and starts regular counter attacks so will pick up points from both goals and assists.

Alexander Lacazette

Value: £11.8m

Lacazette is a slight risk as he only recently arrived to the Premier League, with a hefty price to go with it. He may be worth the risk as he will probably be Arsenal’s first choice striker considering the money they paid for him. He scored plenty of goals for Lyon so I expect him to replicate that in England.

Team Value: £100M

Remaining Budget: £0M
